Insulated Panels for Cold Room Construction

These panels are used for walls, ceilings, and partitions in walk-in coolers, freezers, and industrial cold storage. The design combines thermal insulation with structural function.

Core Insulation Materials

Polyurethane (PUR) Foam

PUR provides reliable thermal resistance. It is a common choice for chiller rooms and medium-low temperature storage where standard insulation values are required.

PIR (Polyisocyanurate) Foam

PIR offers improved fire resistance and thermal stability compared to standard PUR. It is often selected for projects with stricter building code requirements.

Panel Joint System

Panels are connected with a cam-lock or tongue-and-groove mechanism. The joint is shaped to create a tight seal and reduce air leakage and thermal bridging.

Surface Finishes

Pre-painted Galvanized Steel

Suitable for general cold room interiors. It resists moisture and is easy to clean.

Stainless Steel

Used in food processing or hygienic environments where resistance to aggressive cleaning agents and corrosion is required.

Food-grade Polyester Coating

An alternative facing that offers surface durability and meets food safety contact requirements.

Dimensions and Customization

Panel thickness ranges from 80 mm to 200 mm. Width and length can be adapted to project dimensions. Custom cutouts for doors and windows are available on request.

Typical Applications

  • Walk-in coolers and freezers for food retail and storage
  • Food processing rooms and blast chillers
  • Pharmaceutical cold rooms and laboratory enclosures
  • Industrial cold stores and logistics hubs

Surface-mounting with stainless steel clips or brackets is the typical method. Fixtures are placed on walls or ceilings, with cables routed through sealed grommets or conduit entries to preserve the vapor seal of the insulated panel. Replacement is done by detaching the fixture from its mounting, without needing to open the sealed housing.

Common voltage inputs include 100-277V AC for direct mains connection, as well as 12V or 24V DC options for low-voltage installations. Strip lights and linear fixtures are available in standard lengths and can be connected in series to fit room dimensions. Dimmable and sensor-integrated versions can be requested.

Yes, LED drivers and housings designed for cold storage are tested to start and run at temperatures as low as -40°C. Materials such as polycarbonate lenses and stainless steel brackets avoid brittleness and corrosion issues that can affect standard fixtures in freezing conditions.

Fixtures with IP65 or IP66 ratings are commonly used. These ratings indicate protection against dust ingress and resistance to water jets, making them suitable for wash-down areas and rooms where defrost cycles create wet conditions. Wiring connections also need water-tight seals.

LED fixtures are widely chosen for cold storage environments. They produce less radiated heat compared to traditional fluorescent or incandescent lamps and reach full brightness immediately at low temperatures. Vapor-proof enclosures protect internal components from moisture, ice, and condensation.
